About Chapel by the Lake, Texas
Who We Are
Chapel by the Lake, Texas, is a four season, indoor/outdoor wedding and event venue located on nine picturesque acres in Texas City, Texas. We offer four distinct venues that can be used separately or together based on your individual needs. We are a ministry of Mem1 - a joint Lutheran and Presbyterian worshipping community, Check out the church's website: mem1.org.

Our multiple venue spaces boast:
- A picturesque gazebo nestled between a tree lined walkway and in front of sparkling water.
- A large covered outdoor pavilion, perfect for a live band or DJ and dancing. Can seat up to 200.
- A spacious indoor conference area that can seat up to 200.
- An indoor stained-glass sanctuary.
With indoor and outdoor ceremony options, you can say 'I do' in a setting that perfectly reflects your style and personality.

Chapel by the Lake, Texas event venue is a mission of Mem1; Memorial Lutheran and First Presbyterian Churches in Texas City, Texas. The two churches are a hybrid congregation - both ELCA Lutheran and PCUSA Presbyterian. We are affirming and welcoming of everyone. The space is wheelchair accessible, and the sanctuary offers listening devices if needed.

We are located on nine acres with grass, trees, and a small lake. The view of the surrounding landscape provides the perfect backdrop for your special day. It won't rain on your parade because if we need to, we can move the celebration inside. Our inside event space can seat 200 and our stained glass filled sanctuary can too.

1. On the day of your event you will have access to your event space for up to 9 hours from set up to take down.
2. There will be a Chapel by the Lake, Texas staff member on site. We do recommend you have your own day of coordinator.
3. We recommend you hold your rehearsal and rehearsal dinner here so you can experience the event space at the same time of the day.

10. There is a full commercial kitchen on site for your caterer to use as a prep kitchen.
11. Beer and alcohol are allowed with a certified bartender and security guards.
12. At the end of the event anything that was brought on the property needs to be removed and trash needs to be placed in the dumpsters outside.
